Edwyn Chan's Weblog

Edwyn Chan was born in Hong Kong in 1981. He attended The Stern School od Business at New York University and co-majored in Management and International Business. It was also at NYU that got him into the internet business as it was in the summer after freshman year that he started his first internet venture with a fellow college friend.

Their first project was an internet Chinese celebrity stock exchange website which they subsequently sold off to an entertainment and media conglomerate in Hong Kong before graduation. Since graduation, Edwyn has worked in an entertainment and media conglomerate in Hong Kong and at Citigroup’s corporate bank.

In 2005, Edwyn started his internet company, Concept Idea Technologies, while studying for his MBA.  CIT was in the business of Web 2.0 consulting and was best known for its blog research project blogku media.

After completing his MBA from the joint Tsinghua University and The Massachusetts Institute of Technology Program, Edwyn joined NBA China and subsequently TOM Group’s newly formed Sports Division and was in charge of the official NBA website for China, Taiwan and Hong Kong.  

Edwyn is currently at Spottly, a startup he founded in the beginning of 2013 and seed invested by 500 startups.
